
Pair of Ohio State Women’s Event Wins Highlight Split-Squad Friday

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track and field team began the week’s competition slate on Friday at the Tennessee Invite and sent some throwers to the Northeast Ohio Quad Meet, hosted at Akron. A pair of men’s distance runners also competed at the Flames Invitational, hosted by Lee University.
TENNESSEE INVITE
- 1500m: All four OSU women finished in the top-10 of the 1500m as Daniella Santos won with a PR of 4:23.14, Gia Napoleon was the runner-up with a PR of 4:23.62, Addie Engel finished fourth (4:25.10) and Carina Napoleon finished ninth with a PR of 4:33.87. On the men’s side, Alex Dediu led the Buckeyes with a PR of 3:57.31.
- 5000m: Both Buckeye women finished in the top-10 as Audrey DeSantis ran a 17:09.81 to finish fourth and Annie Allen ran a 17:28.58 to finish ninth. On the men’s side, Kevin Agnew’s PR of 14:35.86 led the way for the Buckeyes as he finished fifth overall.
- Pole vault: On the men’s side, Daniel Drellishak and Reo Ogundare both cleared 4.85m / 15’10.9” (Drellishak on his first attempt) to finish fifth and eighth, respectively. On the women’s side, Morgan Fijalkowski and AnneMarie Moses both cleared 3.50m / 11’5.8” (Fijalkowski on her first attempt) to finish seventh and ninth, respectively.
FLAMES INVITATIONAL
- 10000m: In a field of 84 finishers, Zubin Jha finished 11th overall (30:08.72) and John Cuozzo was 13th (30:18.05).
NORTHEAST OHIO QUAD MEET
- Hammer throw: Lacey Stringer won the women’s hammer throw with a PR of 54.41m / 178’6.1”, while Marissa Henley was the runner-up with a best mark of 54.23m / 177’11.0”. Evan Johnson led the Buckeye men in the hammer throw, finishing eighth overall (52.49m / 172’2.5”) with Josh Miller immediately following in ninth (52.22m / 171’3.9”) and Hayden Tobias rounding out the Buckeyes’ lineup with a 51.69m / 169’7.0”.

Ohio State continues competition at the Tennessee Invite on Saturday, beginning with multi events at 11:30 a.m. ET. The Buckeyes also compete at the Lloyd Wills Invitational, hosted by LSU, on Saturday with action beginning at 11:45 a.m. ET.
