
Ohio State Carries No-Hitter into Seventh Inning in Victory over BGSU

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State baseball team (17-15) carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning of an 8-2 victory against Bowling Green (11-18) On Wednesday.
Game Recap
- Trey Lipsey singled up the middle to lead-off the bottom of the first inning. Matthew Graveline stepped up to the plate, hitting a long wall-hitting triple to score Lipsey and give OSU a 1-0 lead. An RBI groundout from Cole Andrews scored Graveline to put the Buckeyes up 2-0 early.
- Mitchell Okuley led off with a single to right center in the bottom of the fifth frame. Lipsey then went yard, sending two runs across to extend the Ohio State lead, 4-0. Cole Andrews also homered in the fifth, sending one over the left field fence to put the Buckeyes up by five, 5-0.
- In the top of the sixth, Josh McAlister had an impressive diving catch to get the first out of the inning.

- Nick Erwin drew a walk to start the bottom of the sixth and then stole second. Kaczmar was next up at the plate; he went yard to give the Buckeyes a 7-0 advantage over the Falcons.
- The Buckeyes gave up the first hit of the game to the Falcons in the top of the seventh inning. Bowling Green scored once in the seventh, but the Buckeyes led by six, 7-1.
- The Falcons scored once more in the eighth to cut the Ohio State lead to five, 7-2.
- Erwin was once again walked to lead off the bottom of the eighth; he moved to second base on a wild pitch. McAlister reached base after being hit by a pitch and both he and Erwin advanced on another wild pitch to put two runners in scoring position. A sac fly from Okuley scored Erwin and put the Buckeyes back ahead by six, 8-2.
- Landon Beidelschies closed out the game for the Buckeyes; he fanned two and helped secure the 8-2 win for Ohio State.
Buckeyes by the Numbers
- Josh Timmerman (1-1) tossed 4.0 hitless innings for the Buckeyes and earned the win on the mound. He fanned four and gave up three walks.
- Andrews and Lipsey led the Buckeyes in hits with two each.
- Lipsey, Andrews and Kaczmar each batted in two runs.
- Nolan Clegg fanned three in 2.0 scoreless, hitless innings of work.
