
2024 Buckeye Captains Named

Ohio State men's lacrosse head coach Nick Myers announced Monday that Connor Cmiel, Trent DiCicco and Jacob Snyder will captain the Buckeyes in 2024.
"I am extremely proud of the leaders that Trent, Connor and Jake have developed into during their careers at Ohio State," Myers said. "They embody what Buckeye Lacrosse is and stands for and we are lucky to have them leading our program this year."
Cmiel, a midfielder from Rocky River, Ohio, enters his fourth season for Ohio State. He played in all 14 games of the 2023 campaign and picked up 22 ground balls and added four caused turnovers on the year. He scored three goals and dished out two assists for the Buckeyes last season. Cmiel recorded a season single-game high five ground balls against Cornell and also scored a goal against the Big Red. In his Ohio State career, he has played in 38 games with six goals and 10 assists and 70 ground balls. Cmiel is a finance major who has earned Ohio State Scholar Athlete honors three times and is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten awardee.
DiCicco, a native of Guelph, Ont., is also a senior midfielder for the Buckeyes. In 2023, he saw action in all 14 games and recorded 24 ground balls, two caused turnovers and one goal. He scooped up three ground balls in the ranked matchups against Cornell, Denver and Maryland and scored his lone goal against the Terrapins. DiCicco has picked up 72 ground balls in his 32-game career at Ohio State and has recorded 10 goals and five assists. The mechanical engineering major is a two-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and Academic All-Big Ten award winner. He has also earned Ohio State Scholar Athlete awards every year of his career and was named the program's Outstanding Scholar-Athlete Award winner in 2021.
Snyder returns to the roster for his fifth year of eligibility after graduating in May with his bachelor's degree in real estate and urban planning. The defenseman also played in every game for the Buckeyes last season, picking up a career-high 11 ground balls and causing four turnovers. The 48-game veteran has started 44 games in his career and earned 28 caused turnovers and 33 ground balls in four seasons. Snyder was also a member of the United States U-21 team, coached by Myers, that won a gold medal at the 2022 World Lacrosse World Championship in Ireland. The Fallston, Md. native was named the Buckeyes' Big Ten Sportsmanship Award winner in 2023 and is a four-time OSU Scholar Athlete, three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and two-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar.
