Buckeyes Finish 5th at Mason Rudolph Championship

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sophomore Maxwell Moldovan carded a final round 69 and finished tied for 12th at 5-under par to lead Ohio State to a 5th place finish at the Mason Rudolph Championship.
For Moldovan, this was his fifth under-par finish of the season and his sixth Top 20 finish. He posted rounds of 71-68-69 and has now played his last 10 rounds at par or better.
Jackson Chandler and Patrick Schmucking each tied for 19th at 2-under par. Both players finished the day strong as Chandler birdied two of his final five holes while Schmucking played the final five holes at 3-under with a birdie and a closing eagle.
Adam Wallin played the most consistent round on Sunday. He made nine pars to start the day and then sandwiched a lone bogey with a birdie at No. 10 and a birdie at No. 18 to finish with a 1-under 71. He was tied with Marco Steyn at 1-over par for the tournament. JonErik Alford rounded out the Buckeye five with a 75 on Sunday.
For the second consecutive tournament, the Buckeyes played the par-5s really well. As a team, the Buckeyes were 26-under par (4.57 average) on the par-5s which was second-best in the field.
Ohio State will finish the regular season in a couple of weeks by hosting the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate on April 23-24. The tournament will be played this year at Columbus Country Club as the OSU Scarlet Course will be preparing to host an NCAA Regional next month.
