
Buckeyes Finish 8th at Linger Longer Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio – All nine members of the Ohio State men’s golf team were in action this week at the Linger Longer Invitational. Joe Wilson IV and Vaughn Harber tied for the top spot amount the Buckeyes as they finished tied for 23rd at 2-udner par.
As a team, Ohio State finished in eighth place at 1-under par following rounds of 277-289-297.
Wilson was the most consistent Buckeye as he carded rounds of 71-71-72. He led the field over the three rounds, playing the par-5s in a combined 9-under par. Harber opened with a round of 67 and would make a total of 15 birdies on the week.
Jack Vojtko also had a great opening round on Friday, carding a season-low 6-under 66. He would finish with rounds of 77-75 and was tied for 37th at 2-over par.
Freshman Giedrius Mackelis had rounds of 74-73-73 to finish at 4-over par and tied for 45th. Tyler Sabo rounded out the Buckeye scoring five with rounds of 73-76-77 and was 10-over par.
Timotej Formanek and Jaime Yzaga matched each other all three rounds, each posting scores of 74-73-79 to tie Sabo at 10-over par. Freshman Finley Bartlett was a shot behind that trio at 11-over with rounds of 73-75-79. Topher Reed carded rounds of 75-84-80.
The Buckeyes will have nearly three weeks off to prepare to host the Robert Kepler Invitational on April 11-12. The tournament will be played at the Columbus Country Club this year as the Scarlet Course is set to host an NCAA Regional in May.
