COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State will complete its spring break trip by playing in the Linger Longer Invitational this weekend. The 54-hole event starts on Friday, and the final round will be played on Sunday. This year, the event will be played on the Great Waters Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee.
- This will be Ohio State’s 4th appearance in the event. Its best finish is a fourth-place finish in 2018. The Buckeyes have had a number of Top 20 finishers in the event, led by a tie for 8th from Daniel Wetterich in 2019.
- Ohio State’s will have all nine players on the roster in action this week. The scoring lineup will include Jack Vojtko, Tyler Sabo, Joe Wilson IV, Vaughn Harber and Giedrius Mackelis. Timotej Formanek, Finley Bartlett, Topher Reed and Jaime Yzaga will play as an individuals this week.
- The team is coming off one of its best tournaments of the year as they battled back and forth down the stretch of the final round of the Colleton River Collegiate a couple weeks ago, ultimately finishing runner-up in the 15-team field.
- Jack Vojtko shot rounds of 72-69-70 to finish fifth at 5-under par. That was his first Top 5 finish this season and third of his career.
- Tyler Sabo also posted a Top 20 finish at Colleton River. He shot a second round 68, which was his sixth round in the 60s this season, the most on the team.
- Vaughn Harber had three solid rounds at Colleton River and is third on the team in scoring on the season at 71.61.
- The weather is going to be great in Georgia this weekend. Temperatures are expected in the upper-70s and lower-80s with very little chance of rain.
