Allessie Named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week … Again

COLUMBUS, Ohio – For the second week in a row, Mackenzie Allessie has been named the Big Ten’s Offensive Player of the Week.
Allessie scored three times and handed out two assists last weekend for the Buckeyes as they defeated Michigan State on both Friday and Sunday. In Sunday’s win, she scored twice and also had two assists in a 5-0 shutout. On Friday, she was one of four different players to record a goal.
Allessie has been on a scoring tear as of late. In the last four games – all Ohio State wins – she has 21 points (nine goals, three assists). She’s scored at least one goal in five of the last six games that she’s played in with multiple goals three times.
A Mount Joy, Pa. native, Allessie currently leads the Big Ten in total goals (12) and goals per game (1.20). She leads a Buckeye offensive attack that is also tied for first in the conference with 28 total goals scored.
Allessie will be playing in her home state this weekend when the Buckeyes travel to Penn State to take on the Nittany Lions Friday and Saturday in the final two games of the regular season.
