Seumanutafa Ready for Prestigious Augusta Women’s Amateur

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State sophomore Aneka Seumanutafa has had a great collegiate season so far and this week, she sets her sites on one of the most prestigious events in women’s amateur golf, the Augusta Women’s Amateur.
The event, which is played at both the Champions Retreat Golf Club and Augusta National Golf Club, will feature 82 of the top women’s amateurs in the world. 36 of the Top 50 players in the World Amateur Golf Rankings are in the field and that includes Seumanutafa at No. 38.
The opening 36 holes will be played on the Island and Bluff nines at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Augusta, Ga. The Island course is an Arnold Palmer design and will serve as the opening nine, while the Bluff course, designed by Jack Nicklaus, is the second nine.
The entire field will then play a practice round at Augusta National on Friday and then the top 30 players from the first two rounds will play the final round on Saturday at Augusta National. This is just the second year of the event as Jennifer Kupcho won the inaugural playing in 2019 and the event was cancelled last year.
NBC Sports will provide three hours of live coverage of the final round competitive round from Augusta National Golf Club from noon – 3:00 PM on Saturday. Golf Channel will deliver highlights, live reports and on-site coverage during the first two competitive rounds at Champions Retreat. Additionally, Golf Channel’s “Live From the Masters” will commence on Friday, from Augusta National.
Seumanutafa has been great this season. She has four Top 5 finishes in five stroke play events and leads the team with a career-best 71.69 scoring average. She has a pair of runner-up finishes and nine of her 16 rounds have been at par or better.
