
Buckeyes Show Promise at Jim Green Invite

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s track and field program completed day two of the season-opening Jim Green Invite hosted by the University of Kentucky. The Buckeyes claimed six top-five finishes and three career-best finishes.
In addition to the strong team showing, Ohio State also received some notable individual performances, including one from freshmen Clarence Foote-Talley, who was making his collegiate debut. Foote-Talley won the triple jump title with a distance of 16.09-meters for a career best.
A total of 17 teams participated in the meet, including in-state foes Xavier, Dayton and Cincinnati. No team scores were kept.
Top Five Finishes
- Freshman Myles Marshall placed fifth in the final round of the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.07 for a career best.
- Sophomore Nick Miller finished third in the 800-meter run with a career-best time of 1:52.29.
- Junior Paul Bete claimed silver in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:29.23.
- The men’s 4×400-meter relay team registered a second place showing with a combined time of 3:08.09. The team included sophomore Donnie James, junior Eric Harrison and junior Tyler Johnson.
- Clarence Foote-Talley took first place in the triple jump.
Up Next
The Buckeyes will travel up north to compete in the Simmons-Harvey Big Ten Invitational hosted by Michigan on Jan. 18.
