Graduate Spotlight: Zack Bazile

Zack Bazile, a senior long jumper and sprinter on the men’s track & field team, is set to graduate with a degree in agricultural communication on Sunday, Dec. 16 at the Schottenstein Center.
Bazile was a record-setting athlete for the track program, finishing his career with a national championship in the long jump with a program-best leap of 27-5.5. The 2018 Big Ten Field Athlete of the Year, Bazile is a four-time All-American and three-time Big Ten Champion. A native of Montvale, N.J., Bazile is also in the Ohio State record book as part of the 4x100m relay team that finished as the national runner-up this season.
Upon graduation, Bazile will move to a training group coached by Rana Reider, a world class sprinting and jumping coach. Reider has coached athletes such as heptathlon world champion Dafne Schippers, European champion Adam Gemili, UK and Anguilla long jump record-holder Shara Proctor and other UK, Dutch and Chinese top athletes. Bazile will train alongside two-time triple jump Olympic champion Christian Taylor and is looking forward to the serious and competitive group.
