Ohio State at the Musketeer Classic
- Ohio State will make their debut in the Musketeer Classic on Monday.
The Course
- Situated minutes from downtown Cincinnati, Maketewah’s finely-manicured 18-hole golf course navigates hills and valleys, offering bentgrass tees, fairways and greens. The club has hosted the U.S. Pro-Am, the Legends of Cincinnati Golf, the Bob Hope Classic, Queen City Open, several Southern Ohio PGA events and the U.S. Open qualifiers for four decades.
Buckeye Backdrop
- The Buckeyes had their first break in action this last week after hosting the Jack Nicklaus Invitational at Muirfield Village Golf Club on October 8-9.
- Will Grimmer represented the scarlet and gray well, winning both of his contests in the match play event, taking down the highly ranked Clemson number one, Bryson Nimmer.
- As a team, Ohio State finished the match shortened event 0-1-1, tying Clemson and falling to Florida State.
- Maketewah Country Club holds a special meaning to Grimmer, as that is his home course and the site at which he qualified for his two U.S. Opens. The event was originally scheduled to be an individual event, which Grimmer would not have the opportunity to play in, but the Bearcat Invitational was rained out earlier in the season and replaced as a team event by the Musketeer Classic.
