COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s 4×400-meter relay team — redshirt junior Antonio Blanks, junior Champ Page, freshman Davon Anderson and sophomore LaMar Bruton — earned First Team All-America honors with a fourth-place finish at the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships Friday afternoon at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
The Buckeyes crossed the finish line in a time of 3:05.53, becoming the first Ohio State 4×4 team to earn First Team All-America honors at the NCAA championships since Courtney Cornwall, Thomas Dickson, Andrew Pierce and current assistant coach Joel Brown did so in 2001. LSU won the national title in a time of 3:01.96, followed by Florida (3:02.48) and Mississippi State (3:04.96).
Ohio State closed the national championships with a 37th-place finish alongside Virginia Tech. The team scored seven points — five coming from the 4×4 effort and two from redshirt junior J.C. Murasky’s seventh-place performance in the shot put on Wednesday. Oregon won the national title with 85.
While the men’s team concludes its season, the Buckeye women have one day at nationals remaining. Senior Carly Pendleton will be the lone competitor for Ohio State on Saturday as she contends in the discus finals at 4:35 p.m. ET. ESPN3.com will have live coverage in the field.
