Ohio State Drops Finale To Michigan – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio– Fourth-ranked Michigan scored 10 times in the second inning and took Sunday’s season finale from Ohio State at Buckeye Field. OSU, now 13-12 on the season, returns to action for a doubleheader against Wright State on Tuesday. First pitched is slated for 4 p.m.
The Wolverines, one of the most potent offensive teams in the country, struck right off the bat for six runs in the first inning on three hits and an error. The biggest blow was a three-run home run by Aidan Faulk and a solo home run from Taylor Swearingen.
In the second inning, Michigan scored 10 times on seven hits and were aided by one Buckeye error. Amanda Vargas and Sierra Lawrence both hit home runs in the inning, each of which came with runners on base.
The Buckeye offense finished with three hits on the day, one each from Caitlin Conrad (double to left field, third inning), Cammi Prantl (single through the right side, fourth inning) and Anna Kirk (single through the left side, second inning).
Ohio State is back in action against for Tuesday’s doubleheader against Wright State (6-18), which just split a doubleheader with Cleveland State. The Buckeyes hold a 29-1 lead on the all-time series and the two schools have not met since 2013.
