Di Lorenzo Advances to Main Draw at All-American Championships – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Francesca Di Lorenzo, a freshman on the Ohio State women’s tennis team and New Albany, Ohio, native, recorded her third win in qualifying at the 2015 Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships Wednesday. Di Lorenzo earns one of eight spots in the 32-player main draw bracket, which starts Thursday in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
In the first round of the main draw, Di Lorenzo will take on fifth-ranked and No. 4 seed Josie Kuhlman of Florida at 4:45 p.m. ET Thursday.
All three wins in qualifying came over ranked opponents. Wednesday, Di Lorenzo topped No. 71-ranked Beatrice Capra of Duke in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.
Tuesday, Di Lorenzo captured a win over No. 75-ranked Lucia Butkovska of Portland in straight sets, 6-0, 7-5, in the first round for her first collegiate win. She then won in three sets over No. 42-ranked Despoina Vogasari of Houston, a 9-16 seed, (6-4, 4-6, 6-2).
