Buckeyes Continue Play at UT Fall Invite – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio — On the second day of the UT Fall Invite hosted by Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn., the Ohio State women’s tennis team posted four singles wins vs. Tennessee and a doubles sweep of Wake Forest. The tournament features teams facing off in a dual match style, playing singles vs. one team and doubles vs. another each day. Play wraps up Sunday.
In singles vs. Tennessee, junior Ferny Angeles Paz and senior Nicole Flower won in straight sets, while junior Miho Kowase and sophomore Olivia Sneed prevailed in three sets. Angeles Paz won 6-3, 7-6 (3) over Ashley Bongart and Flower topped Margo Taylor, 6-2, 6-3. Sneed rallied after dropping the first set for a 6-7 (5), 7-5, 6-2 win over Kim Kermet and Kowase won 6-4, 1-6, 6-1 vs. Eve Repic.
The Buckeyes faced Wake Forest in doubles, sweeping the three matches. Junior Sandy Niehaus and Angeles Paz won 6-4 over Guerin/ Ulyashchenko, Grainne O’Neill and Sneed were 6-3 winners against Retolaza/Fernandez and Flower and freshman Andrea Ballinger topped Davis/Asch, 6-4.
