What does being a Buckeye mean to you?
Becoming a Buckeye is a dream come true. To be able to receive an amazing education and play the sport that I love at an institution as reputable as this one is more than I could ever have asked for. I am truly blessed to be able to have this experience.
Describe some of the factors that went in to choosing to come to Ohio State?
The tradition that Ohio State has was definitely a big factor in choosing to come here. Some traditions go back over 100 years and it feels surreal to be a part of that. Another factor that went into choosing Ohio State was the fact that even though this is a big university, it feels small and homey. We are all Buckeyes and because of that we are all connected by something bigger than ourselves.
What Ohio State tradition(s) are you most looking forward to participate in?
One tradition that I’m looking forward to is being able to wear and represent the The Ohio State University with scarlet and gray colors and to put Buckeye leaves on my helmet. I am also excited to spell out O-H-I-O with my teammates and friends in locations all around the nation and world.
Talk about the impact that the Buckeyes’ coaching staff, and head coach Kelly Kovach Schoenly in particular, had on you during the recruiting process.
One thing I love about our coaching staff is that they care about you as a person. They are always expecting you to succeed on and off the field and push you to do things you never thought you were capable of. Coach Schoenly is extremely knowledgable and I am so excited to be able to develop my skills under her experience.
What are some of the goals you would like to achieve during your time at Ohio State, both athletically and academically?
Some of my academic goals are to make the Big Ten All-Academic team as well as make the Dean’s list each semester I am here. I would also like to help my team become Big Ten champions and make the trip to the Women’s College World Series.
What are your interests and/or hobbies outside of softball?
My interests outside of softball are watching sports, photography, and catching up on my favorite Netflix shows.
