Kunze Leads Heptathlon at UK through Four Events – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s track and field team opened day one of the Rod McCravy Memorial Invitational Friday afternoon at Nutter Field House in Lexington, Ky.
Through four events, senior Cory Kunze leads the heptathlon with 2946 points. The Bondurant, Iowa, native posted wins in both the 60-meter dash (7.32) and long jump (7.01 meters/23-0.00), as well as a runner-up finish in the high jump (1.90 meters/6-2.75). Ibn Short of Kentucky is second with a score of 2928.
Other highlights:
200 meter
Junior Timothy Faust placed third in his heat and third overall in a time of 21.27, while fellow junior Nick Batcha was sixth in 21.62 after finishing first in his section. Baylor’s Blake Theriot was the winner in 21.19.
600 yard
Senior Jordan Rispress was the runner-up in a time of 1:11.73, .04 seconds behind Zebo Zebe of Illinois (1:11.69).
Distance Medley
The Ohio State team of Dominik Seitzer, Armand Austin, Anthony Johnson and Josh Sabo finished seventh overall in a time of 10:01.50, a Top 20 time nationally. Virginia won the race in a meet- and facility-record time of 9:36.11.
