A freshman from Louisville, Ky., Beam is excited to start her college career
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Kelly Beam joined the Ohio State field hockey team this fall after playing three years at Kentucky Country Day School in Louisville, Ky. At KCD, Beam scored 22 goals and added 14 assists for the Bearcats.
An all-around athlete, she also captained and played goalie for the lacrosse team, ran for the track and field team and was named 2005 Most Valuable Diver for the swimming and diving team.

On the serious side …
Athletically, what are your personal and team goals this season?
“My personal goal is to gain some perspective of the college game and improve my stick skills. My team goal is to win the Big Ten tournament and make it to the NCAA tournament.”
Who has made the greatest influence on you as a student-athlete?
“My high school coaches Amy Charasika, Sheila Erk and Pat McAnulty.”
