– Ohio State scored at least one run in a school-record 36 consecutive games to end the 2007 season. The previous record was 28, set last year.
– Ohio State’s 21-2 record at home this season tied the school record for best winning percentage at home (.913), first set last year.
– Ohio State is now 7-10 all-time in the NCAA tournament has reached the regional championship game twice (2002).
– Buckeyes in the circle: Senior Jamee Juarez ends her collegiate career with four OSU career records, including wins (76), strikeouts (747), innings pitched (746.1) and shutouts (27). Her 25 wins as a sophomore and 240 strikeouts as a senior are OSU single-season records.
– Juarez also ranks third in Ohio State history with 127 runs batted in.
– Buckeyes at the plate: Sophomore Courtney Pruner and juniors Liz Caputo and Brittany Vanderink all drove in runs for Ohio State.
– Senior Nycole Koyano ends the season with a team-high 42 runs scored, becoming the first Buckeye in school history to lead the team in runs scored all four years. Her 158 career runs, 117 walks, 76 stolen bases and 14 triples are all second-most in Ohio State history.
– Senior Megan Schwab ends her career with 47 doubles, which rank second in Ohio State history. Her 18 home runs and 116 runs batted in both rank fourth.
– Freshman Sam Marder ended her first season at Ohio State with one of the best rookie seasons in program history. She set a school record for walks (44) and also a freshman record for RBI (49). Her 10 home runs tied the OSU freshman record, her .359 average ranked third, her 30 runs ranked fourth and her 55 hits and 12 doubles tied for fourth. Overall, her 49 RBI are third-most in a season, her 10 homers tied for third.
– Weather: Mostly sunny and 67 degrees at first pitch. Wind 0-10 MPH out to center.
– Fullerton now leads the all-time series with Ohio State 17-5. 10 of those meetings have occurred in Fullerton, while the three this weekend at Buckeye Field marked Fullerton’s first visit to Columbus.
