– With the win, Ohio State wraps up its third-consecutive undefeated home non-conference season. The Buckeyes have won 27-consecutive home non-conference games dating back to a 4-3 loss to Kentucky on April 21, 2004.
– Ohio State is 102-10 in non-conference games at Buckeye Field under 11th-year head coach Linda Kalafatis.
– Buckeyes at the plate: Freshman Sam Marder drove in another run in game two, increasing her season total to 45 RBI. That ranks third in a single season at Ohio State. Wendy Allen’s 51 RBI in 2002 rank No. 2.
– Senior Nycole Koyano stole her team-leading 17th-consecutive base in game two, which extended her personal career best streak for not getting caught stealing.
– Sophomore Courtney Pruner went 1-for-1 with an RBI single in the first inning and a walk to extend her career-best hitting streak to nine games. During those nine games she is batting .565 (13-for-23) … in home games this season, Pruner is batting a team-best .514 (18-35).
– Junior Brittany Vanderink’s two triples tied the OSU single game record, set seven times before and most recently by Nycole Koyano against Rutgers Feb. 18, 2005 … Vanderink owns the team’s best hit streak this season at 12 games and has her current hit streak up to eight games, during which time she is batting .458 (11-24).
– Senior Jamee Juarez hit her 14th career home run in game two Tuesday, which are tied for sixth in Ohio State history. Juarez’s 124 career RBI rank third all-time.
– Buckeyes in the circle: In addition to the four career records senior Jamee Juarez now owns, she also owns the single-season wins record of 25 as a sophomore. The only two career pitching records Juarez does not own are for earned run average and complete games. Her career ERA is now 1.98 (record is 1.36) and she owns 64 complete games (record is 75).
– Buckeyes in the field: Ohio State did not commit an error in either game Tuesday. It marks the second doubleheader this season in which the Buckeyes were errorless (vs. Wisconsin April 1).
– Weather: Sunny and 84 degrees at first pitch. Wind 10-15 MPH out to centerfield.
– Ohio State now leads the all-time series with Wright State 25-1. The Buckeyes are now 16-0 against the Raiders at Buckeye Field.
