– The Buckeyes are now 24-5 when they score first this season, which includes a 9-1 record in Big Ten games when the Buckeyes score first.
– Buckeyes at the plate: Five times in her career had Lauren Daykin collected two hits in a game, but Sunday was her first three-hit game.
– Junior Courtney Pruner went 2-for-2 in game one Sunday, raising her batting average in Big Ten games to a team-best .412 (14-34).
– Senior Nycole Koyano stole her 14th-consecutive base Sunday in game one, extending her personal career best streak without being caught stealing.
– Buckeyes in the circle: The win for Kim Reeder was her first in her last four starts. Ohio State had won two of those games, however, with Jamee Juarez earning the win in relief.
– With one strikeout in game one Sunday, Juarez is now nine strikeouts shy of the Ohio State all-time strikeout record of 692, held by Katie Chain from 2000-03.
– Buckeyes in the field: Catcher Sam Marder threw out her 11th would-be base stealer Sunday in game one against Indiana. Three of her caught-stealing assists have come in Big Ten play.
– Weather: Sunny and 66 degrees at first pitch, warming throughout games. Wind 0-10 MPH left to right.
– The Buckeyes are now 28-50-2 all-time against Indiana, including 13-14 at Buckeye Field. Ohio State is now 11-2 against Indiana since 2001. – Indiana received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament last year and went 30-25-1 overall and 8-9 in the Big Ten. The Hoosiers have seven starters and 14 letterwinners back in 2007.
