– Ohio State pulled off its first-ever sweep of Wisconsin Sunday. Once before, on March 30, 1996, the Buckeyes beat the Badgers twice in one day, but Wisconsin won the third game of the series that year the following day.
– Ohio State is now 16-4 this season when scoring first.
– The six runs Ohio State scored in the fourth inning were its most in one inning this season.
– Buckeyes at the plate: Senior Megan Schwab’s 17 career home runs are fourth all-time in Ohio State history and are three shy of third place (Sarah West, 20 HR, 1999-02).
– Junior Brittany Vanderink’s bunt single in the third inning extended her current hitting streak to 12 games, which is one shy of her career best. In her career against Wisconsin, Vanderink is a .462 hitter (6-for-13).
– Senior Jamee Juarez is a career .539 (7-for-13) hitter against Wisconsin.
– Buckeyes in the circle: Senior Jamee Juarez entered the game Sunday 0-3 with two no decisions in five career appearances against Wisconsin. She had never struck out more than six Badgers, but struck out nine Sunday to win her fifth-consecutive game … Juarez’s 64 wins are three shy of the school record
