– The walk-off home run by Jamee Juarez was her 10th career home run and her first career walk-off homer.
– Buckeyes at the plate: The double by OSU’s Sam Marder was her first of the season. Marder leads the Buckeyes with a .758 slugging percentage and a .521 on-base percentage.
– Buckeyes in the circle: After beginning the season 2-2, Kim Reeder has won her last four decisions … Reeder has not allowed an earned run in her last 25.1 innings … opponents are batting only .194 against her this season.
– Buckeyes in the field: Right fielder Brittany Vanderink recorded her first assist of the season Thursday with a throw from right field to Jamee Juarez at third base to cut down Fordham’s Megan Waldron, who was trying to advance from first to third on a single.
– Ohio State’s five errors were its most since committing six in a 5-2 loss at Iowa last year. The last time the Buckeyes committed five or more errors in a game but still won was Feb. 9, 2003, when OSU had six errors but beat No. 23 Alabama, 7-2.
– Weather: Sunny and 74 degrees at first pitch. Wind 5-10 MPH in from left field.
– Ohio State and Fordham met for the first time in softball Thursday.
– Fordham has 12 letterwinners back this season from its 2006 team that went 37-23 and finished third in the Atlantic-10 Conference.
