– Buckeyes at the plate: Senior Megan Schwab hit her 16th career home run, giving her sole possession of fourth place on Ohio State’s all-time home run list. Sarah West (1999-2002) is third with 20 … the homer for Jamee Juarez was the 10th of her career.
– With Jamee Juarez and Megan Schwab hitting home runs in back-to-back at bats, the Buckeyes hit back-to-back homers for the first time since April 19, 2005, when Stacy Hibma and Liz Caputo went deep in consecutive at bats against Wright State. Of note, on the same field last year, Loyola Marymount became the last OSU opponent to hit back-to-back home runs (March 25, 2006).
– Buckeyes in the circle: Jamee Juarez upped her career strikeout total to 593 Wednesday, which already ranks third all-time in Ohio State history … Juarez lowered her team-best earned run average to 1.88 Wednesday.
– Buckeyes in the field: Senior Lauren Daykin threw out her fifth would-be base stealer of the season Wednesday.
– Weather: Sunny and 65 degrees at first pitch. Slight breeze out to right.
– Loyola Marymount leads the all-time series with Ohio State 4-3, but the Buckeyes have won three of the last four meetings.
– Loyola Marymount has nine starters back this year from its 2006 team that went 29-24 overall and 9-11 in the Pacific Coast Softball Conference.
