– In her career, senior Jamee Juarez has thrown five one-hitters and two no-hitters. Her previous no-hitter came March 24, 2006, at Long Beach State. Juarez has now pitched 630.2 innings in her career, which is one out shy of tying Belinda (Cernava) Quisenberry for second place on the Ohio State career innings pitched list (631.0, 1990-93).
– Buckeyes at the plate: The two runs batted in by freshman Leah Ledford were her first two RBI of the season … the triple by senior Nycole Koyano was the 11th of her career, which are two shy of the second place on the Ohio State career triples list (Jen Fredrickson, 13, 1991-94) … freshman Sam Marder (.364, 7 HR, 23 RBI) was intentionally walked four times in the doubleheader Sunday … senior Christina Douglas hit her first career triple in the game.
– Buckeyes in the circle: Jamee Juarez’s 13 strikeouts were three shy of her career high of 16, which she set in a 10-inning game against UMass in 2004 … Ohio State’s last three games have all been no-hitters. The Buckeyes won twice by no-hitter Sunday and were coming off being no-hit in a 2-0 loss to Virginia Tech last Sunday.
– Buckeyes in the field: Ohio State did not commit an error in the victory, marking the fourth time in the last five games that the Buckeyes did not commit an error.
– Weather: Sunny and 42 degrees at first pitch. Breeze 0-5 MPH left to right.
– Ohio State is now 11-1 all-time against Oakland and has won eight in a row over the Golden Grizzlies.
– Ohio State is now 98-10 in non-conference home games under 11th-year head coach Linda Kalafatis. The games Sunday were originally meant to be part of the Buckeye Invitational, but Binghamton (N.Y.) was unable to travel due to weather conditions.
