Postgame Notes
– After not stealing a base in their previous eight consecutive games, the Buckeyes stole five bases in the game, which is the team’s second-highest theft performance of the season behind their seven stolen bases vs. Saint Mary’s March 23.
– Nycole Koyano stole two bases in the game, giving her 12 on the season which ties the Ohio State record for stolen bases by a freshman. The record is currently held by Candace Kollen in 1995.
– Chelsea Baker saw her team-leading nine-game hit streak come to an end in the game with an 0-1 performance at the plate.
– Stacy Hibma’s homerun was the second of her career. The Buckeyes belted a total of four homeruns in the double-header Tuesday and are now 12-1 this season when hitting a homerun.
– Jamee Juarez collected three doubles in the double-header Tuesday. Juarez and Megan Schwab share the team lead in doubles this season with eight. – The triple for Karisa Evans was her second of the season, which is tied for the team-lead with Meghan Rowlands.
– Four Buckeyes now have 30 or more hits this season, including Karisa Evans (33), Megan Schwab (32), Nycole Koyano (31) and Jamee Juarez (30).
– Ohio State is 7-2 at Buckeye Field this season. In addition, the Buckeyes are 17-2 when scoring first and 20-3 when out-hitting their opponent.
– Ohio State improves to 3-1 all-time against Butler. These two teams last met in 1999.
