– The shutout for Kristi DeVries is her 22nd at Ohio State, which is four shy of the school record of 26 shutouts turned in by Katie Chain from 2000-03.
– With a 3-for-3 performance at the plate, Karisa Evans notched her team-leading ninth multi-hit game of the season and tied her season high for hits in a game.
– With a single in the first inning, Ashley Cutcliff extended her current hitting streak to seven games, which matches her seven-game hitting streak from earlier this season. Her two seven-game streaks and one by Nycole Koyano are Ohio State’s longest of the season.
– Ohio State improves to 13-1 this season when scoring first and 16-0 when out-hitting its opponent.
– Tuesday marked the first time Ohio State and Saint Mary’s have met in softball.
– Ohio State improves to 14-4 vs. unranked teams this season.
– Ohio State is the fourth Big Ten opponent that Saint Mary’s has faced in the last week. The Gaels hosted Purdue March 17 and faced Iowa and Wisconsin in Sacramento last weekend. Saint Mary’s is now 0-6 against the Big Ten this season.
