Ohio State Softball Player Karisa Evans Named 2003 Great Lakes Second Team All-Region Member – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State softball player Karisa Evans (Franklin, Ohio/Franklin) was named to the 2003 Great Lakes All-Region Second Team, the National Fastpitch Coaches’ Association announced today. First and second team members from each of the regions are considered for All-American accolades. Evans, an outfielder for the Buckeyes, was one of two players to start in all 49 games for Ohio State and owned a .949 fielding percentage. Evans led the Buckeyes with a .345 batting average, 49 hits, 32 runs and 13 doubles. Evans also tallied 17 RBI’s and stole six-of-eight bases this season.
Evans saw action in 28 games last year and started in one contest. She hit .429 (6-14), earned six hits and scored four times for the 2002 squad. Evans also was a 2002 OSU Scholar-Athlete.
