Softball Falls to Bowling Green, 2-1 in Extra-Innings – Ohio State Buckeyes

%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio- The Ohio State softball team (39-14 overall, 10-4 in the Big Ten) will have to wait until this weekend to attempt to tie the OSU record of 40 wins in a season, set by the 1994 edition of the Buckeyes.%^$
%^$OSU dropped game two of a doubleheader with Bowling Green at Buckeye Field, losing 2-1 in eight innings to the Falcons. The Buckeyes were out-hit by the BGSU, 11-3, but still had a chance to win in the bottom of the seventh inning, with the score tied at one.%^$
%^$Katie Chain (Jr., North Canton, Ohio/Hoover) allowed nine hits in six innings, but kept the Buckeyes in the game, allowing just one run while striking out eight.%^$
%^$Wendy Allen (Fr., Moreno Valley, Calif./Moreno Valley) pitched the final two innings of the game and took the loss for the Buckeyes, giving up two hits and allowing the winning run to score in the top of the eighth.%^$
%^$Allen walked second baseman Angie Domschot walked to open the inning. After Domschot moved to second on a ground out, she moved to third on a single to left field by third baseman Lindsey Ebel. Domschot scored the winning run on a infield single by shortstop Libby Voshell.%^$
%^$After the Falcons had taken a 1-0 lead in the top of the third, OSU answered with a run of its own to tied the game. With two outs, Annie Dedic (So., Yorba Linda, Calif./Fullerton J.C.) reached first on an error by Voshell. Jenn Link (So., Yorba Linda, Calif./Sonora) smacked a double to right center to score Dedic from first.%^$
%^$OSU could not rally again in the bottom of the eight.%^$
%^$The Buckeyes travel to Madison, Wisc., for a doubleheader with Wisconsin Friday. OSU then will play a two-game set with Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minn., Saturday and Sunday.
