Softball Finishes Season With 4-0 Loss to Penn State – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State softball ended the 2000 season with a 4-0 loss to Penn State today at Nittany Lion Field. Penn State improves to 34-15 overall and 12-5 in the Big Ten to advance to the Big Ten Tournament next weekend at Iowa City, Iowa. Ohio State falls to 28-26 overall and 4-13 conference play.
Penn State’s Karen Gulini led the Nittany Lions offensively, going 3-for-4 with three hits and one RBI. Ohio State was held scoreless by Jaci Kalp, who gave up three hits and struck out seven for her 17th win of the season.
Ohio State’s starter Katie Chain (12-10) posted the loss after giving up three runs off nine hits. Jenn Elwell came in to relieve in the sixth inning, giving up only one hit and striking out one.
