Ohio State advanced to the semifinals of the Winthrop Invitational after defeating Pittsburgh, 2-0, today in Rock Hill, S.C.%^$
%^$Freshman Katie Chain posted her sixth win of the season after giving only two hits and striking out a season-high 11 batters.%^$
%^$Both teams remained scoreless in the first inning, but the Buckeyes came back in the top of the second to go up 1-0. Sarah West advanced to first off an error from the Pittsburgh catcher and scored Kristine Himes.%^$
%^$Ohio State added another run in the top of the sixth as Renae Weigel doubled to leftfield to score Stacy Roth.%^$
%^$Inside the circle, Chain is now 6-2, gave up only two hits and striking out 11 batters. For the tournament, Chain struck out a total of 26 batters of the 50 she faced.%^$
%^$Ohio State now takes on No. 11 Southern Mississippi in the semifinal game of the Winthrop Invitational today at 11:30 a.m. at the Cherry Field in Rock Hill, S.C
