COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State softball team was shutout by No. 7-ranked Louisiana State, 11-0, in the third game of the LSU Tiger Classic in Baton Rouge, La. Ohio State is now 2-1 overall, while the Tigers remain undefeated in the tournament (3-0).
The Tigers recorded 11 hits in five innings and held Ohio State to only one hit in the game.
Inside the circle, Katie Chain recorded her first loss of the season, giving up seven runs and striking out two. LSU’s Britni Sneed kept the Buckeyes out of the game by not giving up a hit and striking out two in her five innings of play.
Ohio State, now ranked as the second seed, will conclude the tournament tomorrow as it takes on Nicholls State Sunday at 11 a.m. If the Buckeyes win they will next compete in the tournament championship at 1 p.m.
