Buckeyes Finish Hawaii Trip With a Loss – Ohio State Buckeyes

HONOLULU, Hawaii – The Ohio State Buckeyes (1-5 overall) closed out its trip to the University of Hawaii/Paradise Classic with a 4-0 loss to Cal-State Fullerton.
The two schools were even until the top of the fourth inning when CSUF scored off a one-run single and a two-run home run. The Titans added another run in the fifth inning to bring the score to 4-0.
Pitcher Toni Hileman (Jr., Alliance, Ohio) saw her record fall to 1-2 on the season. She went four complete innings and gave up three earned runs.
The Buckeyes will have the next 10 days off and will return to action Feb. 27 at the Georgia State Invitational in Atlanta, Ga.
Game Notes
First Time – Today’s game marked the first career start for Sarah West (Fr., Galloway, Ohio).
Top Dogs – A couple Buckeyes had excellent trips to Hawaii. Renae Weigel (Jr., Coldwater, Ohio) paced the OSU hitters with a .333 tourney average. Stacy Roth (Fr., Wauseon, Ohio) chipped in with a .313 BA. Samantha Kimura (Fr., Placentia, Calif.) currently has a three-game hitting streak.
The Thief – With her three stolen bases, Cheryl Palaroan (Sr., Reno, Nev.) now ranks fourth in OSU career history with 39 swipes. She passed Jodi Dolan’s (1995-98) 38. The OSU all-time record is 44 held by Candace Kollen (1995-98).
