COLUMBUS, Ohio – Campbell broke open a 1-0 game with 10 unanswered runs from the sixth inning on and won the second game of the midweek series 10-1 on Wednesday.

Notes

  • Zach Dezenzo was 2-for-3 with a triple and has pushed his hitting streak to a season-high 13 games.
  • Aaron Funk pitched 4.0 scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and striking out three. That was his second-longest outing of the season and it was his first scoreless start of the season.
  • Mitchell Okuley had his 10-game reached base streak snapped last night but reached via a walk in the fifth and has now reached in 20 of his last 22 games.

How It Happened

Ohio State jumped on the board in the first inning as Zach Dezenzo roped a ball into left center field and legged out his second triple of the season. Trey Lispey followed with an RBI groundout to stake the Buckeyes to a 1-0 lead.

The score stayed that way until the sixth when Campbell scored three times on three hits. The Camels tacked on two more on a well-executed suicide squeeze in the seventh to push the lead to 5-1.

In the ninth, Campbell added five runs and the Buckeyes went 1-2-3 to close the game.
