Buckeye Women Break Two Relay Records at Penn Relays



COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track and field team wrapped up competition at the 126th Penn Relays on Saturday.

The women’s 4x400m relay team set a school outdoor record (3:28.07) to finish second overall, while the men’s 4x400m relay squad won (3:03.91). The Buckeye women also set a school outdoor record in the 4x800m relay (8:25.04), finishing second. Anavia Battle won the women’s 100m (11.19). Battle also won the Olympic Development women’s 300m elite competition, finishing in 36.70.

Hayden Tobias won the men’s shot put championships with his personal-best throw of 19.95m. This throw puts him fifth on the program’s record list. Adelaide Aquilla won the women’s shot put championships, with her best throw going for 18.37m. She had the best four throws of the competition. Jaimie Robinson won the women’s triple jump championships with a personal-best of 13.44m, while Shaun Miller Jr. finished second in the men’s high jump with his personal-best of 2.23m.

  • Robby Oswald had his season-best in the men’s pole vault championships, clearing 5.22m to finish second. Abbey Kuhn was the runner-up on the women’s side, clearing 4.13m.
  • Aquilla was the runner-up in the women’s discus throw championships (55.81m). On the men’s side, Tanner Watson finished eighth (54.83m).
  • The Buckeye women had three total in the top-five of the women’s 100m with Nya Bussey in third (11.44) and Yanique Dayle in fifth (11.49). On the men’s side, Eric Harrison finished second (10.28), just 0.005 seconds behind the leader.
  • The Buckeye men finished third in the 4x800m relay (7:29.24).
  • In the women’s 100m hurdles, Alexus Pyles finished fourth (13.34) and Morgan Lewis finished sixth (13.49). Kentre Patterson finished fourth in the men’s 110m hurdles (13.67).
  • Clarence Foote-Talley was fourth overall in the men’s triple jump (15.59m).
  • Cierra Pyles finished fifth in the women’s triple jump (12.65m).
  • Carlos Aviles also competed in the men’s shot put championships, finishing sixth (17.77m) overall.
  • In the women’s high jump, Amaya Ugarte finished seventh by clearing 1.71m.


The Buckeyes compete at the 2022 Big Ten Outdoor Championships in Minnesota on Friday, May 13 through Sunday, May 15.
