Women’s Lacrosse Players Earn Post-Season Honors – Ohio State Buckeyes

Columbus, Ohio – For the first time in the history of the Ohio State women’s lacrosse program, post-season honors were earned by two players.
%^$%^$Miranda James (Jr., Charlotte, N.C.) was named a Mid-Atlantic Regional 2nd Team All-American for defense. James becomes the first All-American in the history of the Ohio State program. She finished the season with three goals and three assists to lead all Buckeye defenders.
%^$%^$Laurie Rybak (Sr., Worthington, Ohio) became the first player in the history of OSU women’s lacrosse to be selected to try-out for the U.S. National Team. Even though she did not make the National Team she was selected to play for the North in the North/South Senior All-Star Game. Rybak was one of the co-captains for the 1999 season and was fourth on the team in total points with 36. She also led the team in ground balls with 65.
%^$%^$Under the direction of fourth-year head coach Sue Stimmel the Buckeyes finished the 1999 season with their best record, 10-5.
