As a sophomore (2013):Continued building a strong opening to her Buckeye career, placing third in the consolation finals on tower at the 2013 Big Ten Championships in Minneapolis, MN, as well as ninthand tenthon the 3-meter and platform at the NCAA Zone C Championships … received Ohio State Scholar-Athlete recognition.
As a freshman (2012):Captured her first win as a Buckeye at the 2011 Ohio State Invitational on the 3-meter with a score of 294.25 … competed at the 2012 Big Ten Championships in Iowa City, Iowa … an NCAA zone meet qualifier; however, did not compete due to injuries … named an Ohio State Scholar-Athlete.
Background:Taylor, both a springboard and platform diver, is from Michigan and has been diving since the age of seven … prior to herfreshman year of college, she became the 2011 Junior National Champion on the3-meter springboard in Knoxville, TN, qualifying for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials on the 3-meter springboard as well as the 2011 Pan American Junior Championships in Medellin, Columbia … the year before she placed fifthon the 3-meter at the 2010 Junior National Championships in Tuscon, Arizona … during her final high school season, she captured the 2010 Michigan state championship … she came into the meet as the No. 1 ranked diver in the state after winning a regional title the week before … Taylor led the state meet through the preliminary rounds and then nailed her final five dives for her first state championship … finished runner-up at the Michigan state meet in 2008 as a sophomore …selectingto work on developing her 3- and 10-meter diving skills with her club team, she did not compete for Saline High School as a junior and finished her high school career as a three time All American … the daughter of Bruce and Carol Ford … Taylor has two brothers, Patrick and Wyatt, and one sister, Maggie.
