As a junior (2017): OSU Scholar Athlete and Academic All-Big Ten … swam at Big Ten Championships for the first time in her career, competing in three events: 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke, and 200 IM … her best finish at Big Tens came in the 100 breaststroke, where she finished in 27th … her season-best time of 1:02.10 in the 100 breast came at the OSU Invite and was the second-best time on the team …third-fastest time in the 200 breast (2:17.43).
As a sophomore (2016): Won the 50 (31.11) and 100 breaststroke (1:09.17) against Michigan State … took first place in the 100 breaststroke against Wright State (1:04.12)
As a freshman (2015): Debuted for Ohio State in the dual meet against Miami (OH) on Oct. 23, swimming in the 100 and 200 breaststroke … swam primarily breaststroke as a freshman
Background: Set five school records at Strongsville High School, swimming under the direction of head coach Tom Stacy … an 11-time high school All-American … named the team’s MVP three-consecutive seasons … placed third at the state championships in the 100 breaststroke, as well as fifth in the 50 freestyle during her senior campaign … named the Northwest Conference MVP (2014) … qualified for the state meet all four years .. the daughter of Tom and Rita Washko … has two siblings, Allison and Michael.
