Crissy Strimple joined the Ohio State coaching staff in July of 2026.
Strimple comes to Ohio State after a long and successful tenure at the University of Tulsa, where she spent 21 seasons as a student-athlete and coach, including seven seasons as the Golden Hurricane’s head coach. Overall, she has been part of more than 890 wins during her coaching career and has helped guide teams to 10 NCAA Tournament appearances and six postseason conference championships across Conference USA and the American Athletic Conference.
Strimple and Kumar were together on the Tulsa coaching staff from 2008-10 and again for one season in 2016. Â
Prior to becoming head coach, Strimple served eight seasons as associate head coach and recruiting coordinator at Tulsa. In that role, she was instrumental in player development and recruiting, particularly with the infielders. Under her guidance, Tulsa infielders earned six NFCA All-Region selections, 23 all-conference honors and one All-America award. During her time on staff, Tulsa players combined for 71 all-conference selections, 32 NFCA all-region honors and six NFCA All-America awards.
Strimple began her coaching career as director of softball operations at Arkansas (2005–06) before serving as an assistant coach at Central Arkansas in 2007. She joined the Tulsa staff as an assistant coach in 2008, eventually rising to associate head coach and later head coach.
A standout collegiate player, Strimple starred at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M and then finished her career at Tulsa. At NEO A&M, she was a two-time All-Region selection and an NJCAA All-American. After transferring to Tulsa, she earned Offensive Player of the Year honors as both a junior and senior, led the team in home runs, and finished her playing career with an 82–45 record. She was inducted into the Northeastern Oklahoma A&M Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014.
Strimple earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports science from the University of Tulsa and a master’s degree in sports management from the University of Arkansas.
