COLUMBUS, Ohio – After completing an undefeated regular season, Ohio State pistol capped off the season with a national championship, capturing the crown in air pistol, team standard pistol and team sport pistol at the Intercollegiate Pistol Championships in Ft. Benning, Ga.
The achievement marks the Buckeyes’ third overall team national title in the past four years. The Buckeyes earned a national team title at the 2018 Intercollegiate Pistol Championships, finished second at the 2019 Intercollegiate Pistol Championships and now have won back-to-back titles in 2021 and 2022.
On Thursday, Ohio State had four representatives in the air pistol finals with Jackson Leverett taking second place overall and Katelyn Abeln in third place. Additionally, four Buckeyes were in the air pistol final: Abeln, Leverett, Sam Gens and Henry Leverett.
