Ohio State Closes First Half of Season with Win at Navy

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State pistol team capped the first half of its 2025-26 season with one of its top overall performances thus far at Navy. The Buckeyes scored a season-high 6711 aggregate score while Marcus Klemp (standard pistol) and Blaine Simpson (air pistol) each notching personal best scores.
Ohio State's top overall scorer was Simpson, who totaled 1709 with scores of 571 in the air pistol, 580 in the sport pistol and 558 in the standard pistol. The Buckeyes had the top three overall aggregate scorers: Simpson, Klemp and Riya Salian (1665).
The Buckeyes swept the No. 1 spots in the air pistol, sport pistol and standard pistol. Simpson won the sport and standard pistol while Klemp took first place in the air pistol. As a team, Ohio State's top event was the sport pistol where it scored a 2290 and had six of the top seven finishers.
