
NATIONAL CHAMPS!! Buckeyes Win 6th Consecutive Pistol Title

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State head coach Emil Milez has built a powerhouse, and the Buckeyes showed their dominance once again, winning a sixth-consecutive pistol national championship over the weekend. The Buckeyes won all three events en route to running away with the team title by 330 points.
Ohio State had the top eight shooters in the overall individual aggregate, led by junior Ada Korkhin with a score of 1,685. Sophomore Marcus Klemp was second at 1,679 and sophomore Blaine Simpson took third at 1,677. Fourth through eighth in the competition was Johnathan Dorsten (1,670), Ankita Deokule (1,665), Evan Langerak 1,663), Riya Salian (1,648) and Maral Gantsooj (1,645).
In Air Pistol, the Buckeyes won the event at 2,255 as Korkhin (571), Klemp (570), Salian (559) and Simpson (559) finished second through fifth. In sport pistol, the Buckeyes finished 1-8 as they won the team competition with a score of 2,284. Deokule finished first in the event with a score of 581 followed by Korkhin at 578 and Dorsten at 575.
In the standard event, the Buckeyes again dominated, taking the top nine spots. Senior Abbie Leverett won the event at 553 while Simpson was second at 549 and Gantsooj was third at 544. As a team, the Buckeyes won the standard competition by 142 points.
