Team USA Roster | VNL Schedule
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Jacob Pasteur, Ohio State’s rising junior outside hitter from Westminster, Maryland, was named to the USA’s 25-player Volleyball Nations League Roster Friday, USA Volleyball announced.
The team consists of nine players from the USA squad that competed in last summer’s Tokyo Olympics as well as a group of players to recently completed their collegiate seasons in 2022.
The tournament begins for the USA in Brasilia, Brazil, June 8.
Pasteur said representing Team USA always is a special thrill.
“This means a lot to me,” Pasteur said. “Being able to represent and be a part of Team USA again is a blessing. I am super thankful for this opportunity and look forward to making the most of it!”
Kevin Burch, head coach of the Buckeyes, said it is rare for college players to make the USA squad and looks forward to watching Pasteur compete at the international level.
“It’s not very often you see college players on the VNL roster, but Jacob is certainly deserving of the honor,” Burch said. “Jacob’s growth on and off the court the past year and a half has been fun to watch and it’s exciting to see him earn this incredible opportunity to expand on his development. We are excited to see him learn and compete with the best players in the world and wish him nothing but the best for him this summer!”
