COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s golf team has earned an at-large berth and will host an NCAA Regional later this month. The Columbus Regional will be played on May 16-18 on the Scarlet Course at the OSU Golf Club.
The top five teams and top individual not on a qualifying team at each of the six regionals will advance to the NCAA Championships at the Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., on May 27-June 1.
Ohio State is the No. 6-seed in the 13-team regional. The Buckeyes have qualified for a regional for the third consecutive season and for the fourth time under head coach Jay Moseley. Last season, the team finished sixth at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional, just two shots away from qualifying for the NCAA Championship.
The Buckeyes have six Top 5 finishes this season including a win at the Southern Invitational in March. They have also had four medalists this spring, led by three wins from sophomore Maxwell Moldovan. Moldovan was a unanimous first team All-Big Ten selection and Adam Wallin earned second team accolades.
Ohio State holds a 4-6 head-to-head record against teams at the Columbus Regional, including a 2-0 mark against No. 4 seed Clemson.
Play gets underway at 7:30 a.m. each morning on May 16-18.
