
Three Buckeyes Earn Academic All-District Honors

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State baseball players Noah Furcht, Gavin Kuzniewski and Ryan Zamora have all earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors, announced by the organization on Tuesday.
To qualify for baseball's Academic All-District team, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. Pitchers must have made at least 17 appearances on the mound or pitched at least 35 innings.
Furcht has maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA while pursuing a graduate degree in sports coaching. Furcht played and started in all 55 of the Buckeyes' games in 2026. He batted .278 with 43 runs scored, 58 hits, 12 doubles, 11 home runs and 40 RBIs. He was Ohio State's recipient of the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award. This is Furcht's second CSC Academic All-District honor; he also earned the distinction during his undergraduate career at UNC Charlotte.
Kuzniewski, a sophomore, has a 3.62 GPA and is working towards a degree in sport industry. Kuzniewski was the Buckeyes' Friday night starter and made 15 starts on the mound. He compiled a 6-3 record and finished the season with an ERA of 4.66. He fanned a career-high 69 in 83.0 innings pitched.
Zamora, a junior working towards a degree in sport industry, has a 3.53 GPA. Zamora (2-0) was one of the Buckeyes' most relied-upon closers, notching three saves on the season. He fanned 39 batters in 35.2 innings tossed and finished the season with a 3.79 ERA.
