
Buckeye Trio Earns All-America Accolades

Chavez, Johnson and Perry recognized
The criteria for ITA All-America singles honors include winning the ITA All-American Championship, advancing to the round of 16 at the NCAA Individual Championship or finishing in the top 20 of the final ITA Singles Rankings. All-America recognition is awarded to doubles teams who win the ITA All-American Championship, reach the NCAA Championship quarterfinals or finish in the top 10 in the final ITA National Doubles Rankings.
Perry is a three-time singles All-American. She earned the award in the fall when she advanced to the NCAA Round of 16 for the third time, becoming the first Buckeye to reach the third round three times. She ended the season ranked fourth and was ranked in the top five throuhgout the spring. In 2025-26, Perry earned her third First Team All-Big Ten accolade.She and Irina Cantos Siemers (2021, '22, '24) are the only Buckeyes to earn three singles All-America nods.
Perry and Johnson, the Big Ten Doubles Team of the Year, wrapped up the year ranked a season-best eighth. They are the third Buckeye doubles team to earn All-America accolades, joining Francesca Di Lorenzo and Miho Kowase who won the 2017 NCAA Doubles Championship and ended the year ranked third and Kristy Dascoli and Monica Rincon, who reached the quarterfinals at the 2001 NCAA Doubles Championship.Â
The Big Ten Player of the Year, Chavez garnered her second All-America accolade after finishing the season ranked fifth. After starting the year ranked 11th, she moved into the top 5 Feb. 4 and was as high as second, the second Buckeye to be ranked in the top two. Chavez is the fourth Buckeye to earn multiple singles All-America honors, joining Perry, Cantos Siemers and Di Lorenzo (2016, '17).
