Buckeye Signees Compete at 2026 Men’s Development Program National Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The newest members of the Ohio State men's gymnastics program competed at the 2026 Men's Development Program National Championships this past weekend in Oklahoma City, Okla. Chane Cumbermack, Daniel Montes and Anthony Ruscheinsky competed in the Junior Elite Level 10 competition, while Elias Tucker competed in the Junior National Level 10 competition.
Ruscheinsky led the way for the Buckeyes, finishing fifth in the all-around competition with a combined score of 152.450 through prelims and finals. The Buckeyes had a strong showing on vault, finishing second (Ruscheinsky), third (Montes) and fourth (Cumbermack) in the elite competition and tied for sixth (Tucker) in the national competition.

Ruscheinsky led the way for the Buckeyes, finishing fifth in the all-around competition with a combined score of 152.450 through prelims and finals. The Buckeyes had a strong showing on vault, finishing second (Ruscheinsky), third (Montes) and fourth (Cumbermack) in the elite competition and tied for sixth (Tucker) in the national competition.
How it Happened
- Chane Cumbermack: He finished eighth in the all-around (150.350), increasing his score from 74.850 in the prelims to 75.500 in the finals. Cumbermack finished in the top 10 in three events – floor (26.400, fourth), vault (27.800) and parallel bars (25.450, ninth).
- Daniel Montes: He earned a 71.400 in the prelims and a 71.850 in the finals for a combined all-around score of 143.250. Montes' strongest event was vault, where he finished third (28.050). He competed the second-most difficult pommel horse routine of the competition and finished with a combined score of 23.800.
- Anthony Ruscheinsky: He led the Buckeyes with a fifth-place finish in the all-around (152.450), earning a 75.900 in prelims before increasing his score to 76.550 in the finals. His 26.250 was the highest score in the competition on high bar. Ruscheinsky's 28.100 on vault was good for second place and just 0.100 behind the event's leader. He also finished in the top 10 on floor (25.500) and pommel horse (24.050).
- Elias Tucker: He totaled 139.450 in the all-around competition, earning a 70.750 in the prelims and a 68.700 in the finals. He tied for sixth on vault (27.400) by scoring a 13.700 on both days. Tucker also competed the most difficult floor routine of the competition in the finals and ended the event with a combined score of 25.300.
