
Buckeyes to Host Akron in Final Midweek Game of the Season

Ohio State has won four of its five midweek games this year
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Riding a conference series win over Penn State, Ohio State softball (23-22) looks to welcome Akron (26-21) for a 5 p.m. contest on April 21. The game was initially scheduled for March 11 but then moved due to weather. Buckeye Field will also hold Dollar Dog Night the evening of the matchup.

Buckeye Bats Stay Hot

Sophomore pitcher Lorin Boutte (5-4) has continued to ascend in the latter half of the season, picking up three conference wins in the last two weekends, including one over Michigan and two over Penn State. Boutte got the bulk of the work in the Penn State series, throwing 12 innings and striking out 11. In her last 24.2 innings pitched, Boutte has struck out 28.

Akron will faceoff with the Buckeyes with a 26-21 record thus far and a 17-4 MAC record. The Zips have notable wins over Illinois, UConn, Ball State, Miami, UMass, and Buffalo.
