Coleman Scores Perfect 10 in Buckeyes’ 2026 Home Finale Win

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 20 Ohio State women's gymnastics team closed out its 2026 home season in spectacular fashion. The team won the meet with a score of 197.150 over NC State (196.625), Penn State (196.550) and Eastern Michigan (194.725) while Buckeye gymnasts hit two program record tying scores and the program's first perfect 10 since 2003.
Sophomore JJ Coleman put the exclamation point on the win with a 10.0 on floor in the final routine of the day. The score ties the program record and is the first 10.0 by a Buckeye since the 2003 season and just the second on floor in program history. It was just a matter of time for Coleman, as she had scored a 9.900 or higher in all but one meet entering Sunday's quad meet.
Courtney McCann was the first to tie a program record score on Sunday, earning a 9.975 on beam for the Buckeyes. The score also ties her career high, which she hit in her first collegiate meet in the 2024 season.
The Buckeyes tied for the team event title on uneven bars (49.300) and won the beam (49.375) and floor (49.450) titles outright. Coleman finished the meet with individual event titles on floor and bars (9.900). Sadie Jane Berry earned a share of the bars title with her first career 9.900. McCann also won the beam event title.
The team finished the meet with its strongest event of the day, scoring a 49.450 on floor. Kaitlyn Grimes and Tory Vetter added scores of 9.900 in their final collegiate routines at the Covelli Center. Ohio State also counted scores of 9.825 from Baylie Belman and Cameron Smith.
Ohio State recorded a season-high 49.300 on bars Sunday. Every Buckeye scored a 9.800 or higher in the rotation. In addition to the 9.900s from Berry and Coleman, a highlight from the rotation included an exhibition from senior Kaylyn Mintz.
Coleman also led the team on vault, scoring a 9.875 for third overall on the day. Grimes tied her season high with a 9.50 in the first routine of the meet.
Vetter added a 9.900 on beam for the Buckeyes in her senior day meet.
Following the meet, the Buckeyes recognized their 2026 senior class of Payton Harris, Mallory Gregoy, Mintz, Grimes and Vetter.
The Buckeyes close the regular season with a quad meet at Arizona Friday, March 13. Ohio State will compete against the Wildcats, Texas Woman's University and Southeast Missouri State at the McKale Center in Tucson, Ariz. at 9 p.m.
