- The Ohio State women's lacrosse team closes out a three-game homestand when it takes on Vanderbilt at 11 a.m. Saturday in Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium. Admission and parking are free.
- Saturday is the Buckeyes' Our Honor Defend game recognizing military members and first responders.Â
- The game will be streamed through B1G+ and live statistics will be available through OhioStateBuckeyes.com.
- Ohio State is 3-2 on the year and coming off a 17-3 win over Robert Morris at home Sunday. Vanderbilt is 3-3 and defeated Eastern Michigan 11-8 Wednesday in Nashville.Â
- Ohio State has a 9-13 all-time record against Vanderbilt, but has won the last seven games between the teams.
- The programs were league foes in the American Lacrosse Conference from 2002-2013. The series started in 1996 and the teams met every year through 2014.
- The series was renewed last season, with the Buckeyes posting a 14-8 road win Feb. 22, 2025. Among current Buckeyes in the victory, Kate Tyack had four goals and five points, while Kampbell  Stone had a hat trick and Jocelyn Torres made 14 saves.
- Vandy is 3-3 on the year, with wins over Mercer, Cincinnati and Eastern Michigan and losses to three ranked foes - Clemson, Stanford and Denver.Â
- For the second year in a row, Buckeye goalie Jocelyn Torres has been named to the watch list for the Tewaaraton Award.Â
- This year, she has started all five games for the Buckeyes, with 39 saves (10.44 goals-against average, .415 save percentage).
- Torres has 58 collegiate starts, with a 10.51 gaa and .454 sv%. Â
- She matched her career best with 14 saves at Louisville Feb. 10 in a double overtime win and had nine saves at North Carolina Feb. 20.
Buckeye This and That
- Ohio State started its three-game home stand with a 22-4 win over Detroit Mercy Feb. 27 and a 17-3 win against Robert Morris March 1.Â
- Abby Boyle, who was first on the team with 50 draw controls last year, had a program-record 16 against Detroit Mercy last week. The program record had been 13, set three times prior, with the last March 10, 2022 by Chloe Johnson. Boyle now leads the Buckeyes with 37 this year after five vs. the Colonials.Â
- Senior transfer Camryn Callaghan had three goals and an assist for four points in each game last week. She has a team-high 18 goals and 25 points and is second with seven assists.Â
- Callaghan moved her career total to 211 career points (175g, 36a). She has a point in each of her last 21 games, with a 56-13-69 line in the stretch. Callaghan ranks sixth among current NCAA players in career goals, eighth in points and 15th in goals per game (3.02).
- Junior Kate Tyack leads the Buckeyes with nine assists and is second with 13 goals and 22 points. She has multiple points in all six games this season, with multiple assists in three and multiple goals in four. She is on 12-game goal and point streaks, with 25 goals and 35 points in the stretch. Tyack has 71 goals and 93 points in her Buckeye career. Â
- Maddy Paz tallied a then-career high four points, with two goals and two assists, against Detroit Mercy  and then followed with a career-best four goals against Robert Morris. She has two or more goals in each of the last four games and 11 on the year to rank third on the squad, adding four assists for 15 points. Paz had six goals while playing in 13 games a year ago.Â
- Kampbell Stone had her fifth career hat trick and seventh game with at least three goals against Robert Morris. She is tied for second on the team with five caused turnovers and tied for third with seven ground balls and 10 draw controls. Â
- Senior Darrien Furiness, who has started all six games after playing in nine games the last three years combined, had a career-high four ground balls and two caused turnovers against RMU.Â
- The Buckeyes limited UDM (9) and RMU (10) to 19 combined shots last week.
- Annie Hargraves, Torres and Stone were selected the Buckeyes' team captains for this season.
The Schedule Ahead
- The Buckeyes open Big Ten play next week with a game at No. 4 Northwestern at 2 p.m. ET March 15 in Evanston, Ill.Â
- Ohio State will then return home to host Rutgers at 6 p.m. March 19.Â
- Admission and parking are free for all Ohio State regular season home games in Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium.
